Gerry Brady represents Longford County Council on the taskforce. A Fine Gael party member, Gerry is the third generation of his family to be involved in local politics and has been a councilor since 1985. Gerry has worked as a teacher in Moyne Community School for over thirty years. |

Declan is Director of Services for Laois County Council and is a member of the Senior Management Team whose main areas of responsibility are Community & Enterprise, Economic Development, Arts, Culture, Tourism, Heritage, Sport and the Library Service. |

Niall Cullen |

|
Niall Cullen is an Assistant Principal at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform based at 94 St. Stephens Green in Dublin. Niall acts as national liaison support to both the Midland Regional Drugs Task Force and the Dublin North Inner City Local Drug Task Force for the Office of the Minister of Drugs. Niall is married to Lily and lives in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. His main interests outside of work are soccer coaching with young players and traveling. |

Fergal Fox |

Fergal Fox is a representative for Travellers on the taskforce. Fergal is the Traveller Health Co-Ordinator with the HSE. His role involves working across the midlands (Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath) co-ordinating the activities of the Traveller Health Unit, a partnership of HSE staff and Travellers which sets up and monitors initiatives to improve Traveller health and social gain. |

Joyce Furlong is a community sector representative on the taskforce, specifically Westmeath Community and Voluntary Forum. The Forum is a structure for the collective voice of the community and voluntary sector. It acts as a social partner in matters relating to local and county development in Westmeath. It is a mechanism for active citizenship. Joyce has experience of working in formal and non formal education; and in community development. |
Tony Geoghegan |

Tony Geoghegan is a voluntary sector representative on the taskforce. Tony is the CEO of Merchants Quay Ireland, a homeless a drug service. Merchants Quay Ireland aim to provide services aimed at reducing harm related drug use and homelessness and at providing pathways towards rehabilitation and settlement, and, to work for positive social change to combat poverty and social exclusion which lie at the root of problem drug use and homelessness. |

Frankie Keena is a community sector representative on the task force. Frankie is a co-founder and chairperson of Athlone Drug Awareness Group. Established in 1996 as a response to growing concern about drugs in the greater Athlone Area, Athlone Drug Awareness Group is made up of members of statutory, voluntary and community groups in the area and aims to encourage the involvement of people in the Athlone area in partnership with the voluntary and statutory services in developing strategies to reduce the demand for drugs. |

Geraldine Lacey is a voluntary sector representative on the taskforce. Geraldine is Service Manager with Midlands Regional Youth Service Ltd. Ger has been employed by the Youth Service since 2001 which has responsibility for youth service provision in Counties Offaly and Westmeath. Ger is the voluntary rep on the National Voluntary Drug Sector group representing the Midland Regional Drug Taskforce. |

Kevin Macken represents FÁS on the taskforce and is the assistant manager of the Community Services Unit of FÁS Midlands, covering counties Westmeath, Longford, Offaly, Laois and Kildare. FÁS funded programmes provided in the community include community employment programmes, community training centers, local training initiatives, job clubs and job initiative programme. For persons with special needs, FÁS fund the supported employment programme and also approx 240 training places with the national learning network in the midlands. |

Colin McAree is a voluntary sector representative on the taskforce. Colin is the area manager with Foróige in the region. The purpose of Foróige is to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and in the development of society. This purpose challenges and supports young people to involve themselves in developing their character and talents. |

Eugene Rafferty represents the Regional Office of the Department of Education and Science on the taskforce. The role of the Regional Office Service is to support a socially-inclusive society by: representing the Department on appropriate regional and local bodies; communicating information on educational issues to and from the Department; providing any other educational services that can best be undertaken locally; and identifying gaps or overlaps in provision at local level, particularly in relation to social inclusion. It is also responsible for the provision of information to the public on the Department and on the education sector in general. The Midland Regional Office serves counties Longford, Westmeath, Offaly and Laois. |
